The reviews in September and October by Sheldon Rothblatt and Anthony Grafton (see Reviews section)
had an impact, at least on sales. The book attained the highest sales that I have found to date on 21
October 2006: Amazon.com Sales Rank: #741. The power of the written word!
The first prining sold out in early November. The press is printing more of the cloth edition, due around 22
December 2006. A paperback may appear in early 2008.
November 2006: Shanghai Sanhui Culture and Press has purchased the rights for a Chinese translation.
February 2007: OGI Press has purchased the rights for a Russian translation.
September 2007: Acantilado-Quaderns Crema has purchased the rights for a Spanish translation.
September 2007: A paperback edition will officially appear on 1 November, but Amazon has it in stock already.
2007: AC won the Forkosch Prize for best book in intellectual history in 2006, awarded by the Journal
of the History of Ideas.
